MONUSCO will document the land dispute between head of state Joseph Kabila and residents of the Mbobero hill, more than 5 km from the northern part of Bukavu near St. Paul's College in Kabare.
The UN Mission for the Stabilization of Congo (MONUSCO) leader Leila Zerrougui expresses her concern about the humanitarian situation of Mbobero victims who have been demolished in this area, which has been sold to the president Kabila, which is criticized by people who are forced to flee.
This one meant last weekend when she arrived in Bukavu where she had a face to face with members of civil society. At the end of their exchanges about this conflict and given the impact of the demolitions and the current situation of the victims, she promised to meet in person the Head of State for a palliative solution. The latter instructed its provincial services to urgently document this file and to send it as soon as possible to the report containing information relating to it. Some local actors have praised his involvement and his advocacy underlines PASCAL MUPENDA spokesperson for the New Dynamics of Civil Society (NDSCI).
Other points were on the agenda of the day including the issue of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda FDLR stationed in Walungu, the rebel groups present in South Kivu and the elections scheduled for December. In this province, she has spoken with the provincial governor and she plans to have an exchange with Dr. DENIS MUKWEGE this Monday.
